ALPINE LANDSCAPES
By definition, alpine regions sit above the climatically imposed limit of trees. Compositions from the alpine tend to emphasize the relationship between lithosphere and atmosphere. In truth, we are always occupying this earth to sky transition, however photography in the alpine brings the significance of this fact into the observers purview. Violently impressive shapes cut into the sky, sometimes with certainty and other times with the intercession of clouds. These photographs are by intention a display of the culmination of eons of earth's processes. The acts of weathering and orogeny are the components that produced such aesthetic value. With this collection of photographs, I hope to merely reveal the beauty of the productions of vast geological processes.
